Very nice finds,amazed that Massachusetts token found it's way to Illinois!Cool military buttons;indian heads;seated dimes. :thumbsup:

I guess the 2 seated dimes were included in the "some silver" description? :'(

Yes those would be included...I Just put up some finds cause peeps like to see what others recover....wasn't trying to downplay the seated...just figured they spoke for themselves.... :thumbsup:

The Token was quite a find for these parts...In trying to track the arrivial of the token I found that a Dr. Charles Legg resided on the site but he did not purchase it till 1875 ( I have a nice historical write up of him) ...The original purchaser of the land was a speculator....the land was then purchased sometime between 1850 and 1868 by someone with the initials H.F.A :dontknow: and was again sold to a William B Musgrove sometime before 1875....the 68' plat does not show a residence...So in the end I'm just left here admiring it and :icon_scratch:....

I just noticed that after your post. Is that a known die "error" or normal variety, or is the E just worn in a perverse manner?

No, it's man-made, I think people started to play with the coins in the 1880's, maybe 1890's.
