Nice job on that pumpkin!

Last year my "now " brother in law, carved a pumpkin that said
"Will You Marry Me" and set it on my sisters porch....inside the big pumpkin was a tiny pumpkin with the ring inside! My sister carved a pumkin that said " Yes" .....they were married at Christmas!

Great story Gypsy! I carved these three pumpkins a few years ago, took the pics with a Polaroid instamatic, covered the flash. Pic of the old man didnt turn out well but the pumpkin was very creepy looking. In So Cal we had hundreds of trick or treaters, lots of people would take pics of the pumpkins. I would carve 6-10 pumpkins for our porch every year & a few for friends, but we had 6 kids beat on our door here in Idaho last year..........dont know if I'll bother carving or not.

Thanks Gypsy! The first time I saw these artistic pumpkins was on "Roseanne", they had a bunch of the cast members faces & one of Frankenstein. I waited til the following year & caught the rerun & taped it on my vcr. I paused it on the Frakenstien pumpkin & copied it on paper & traced it onto the pumpkin. It looked different than the original but I got sooooo many comments on it, it looked realy cool! I did many many pumpkins the years to follow, long before I ever had a digital camera. I have a lot of pics of different pumpkins, taken with a Polaroid but dont know where they are now. I discovered a website a few years ago & got some realy cool designs from it including the skull, Ive carved the skull design on dozens of pumpkins, one for me every year & I would do em for freinds cause they took about 45 mins to carve, very simple. Hell, I even cut the skull design into the side of one of my PC's & added orange led lights! These pumkins are easy to do if you have the right patterns, I'll try to find the skull patern & post it for everyone. ;D

No problem....I took white garbage bags and filled them with pine needles to shape the head and then put a twisty tie around it to close....then took two and 1/2 old twin bed sheets and cut them in half....cover garbage bag at a triangle and twist tie shut ....took metal electric fence posts and put the pipe into the ghosts head, into the garbage bag opening....then shoved intothe ground....then tie each ghost arm to the one next to it ...forming a circle....

You need to use the garbage bags ,because if it rains, your head of ghost gets too heavy and sags.....Have Fun!

I was just thinking to myself this morning, i was gonna try to wait untill 2 weeks before halloween this year to get the pupkins and carve them but now you have me beging to my parents to get them ASAP just like i always want to. I love this time of the year with all the fall festivities expecially pumpkin picking and carving. Rest assured you will have a few pictures of mine once i get them! I promise!

The ghosts realy look great............& spooky! Im looking at your Jack Sparrow pumpkin & that turned out great! It realy looks like Mr Depp! Im curious how long it took you to carve & where did you find the patern, or did you make the patern from a photo copy?
