Great coin! I didn't see any guesses as to what type it is / country of origin / etc. I may have missed that info if it was posted.

If anyone knows the answer, just holler it out please.

1706. 152 years older than my oldest coin..

The coin is a Norwegian coin, "2 skilling" The symbol on the back of the coin is the symbol of "King Frederik The 4" He ruled from 25 august 1699, and until 12 october 1730. The details on the back of the coin is very nice, its a bit difficult to see on this small coin.
But i have another larger coin from the same king that i have posted here earlier- and there you can see that he uses his initiales "F4" like swords crossing eachother.

Nice details on old coins like this. 8)

The value in this condition is +- about $100,00 us.

Thanks goldhamster, that is a fantastic coin you have found...... The story and details is what makes this forum so great.... Remember that to us, this is a history lesson where we learn about your country, and a lesson in detecting..... Oh and of course, we learn about you ;) Sorry about the coppers in your area :'(

God bless
Peter
