SILVER/Standing Lib, Merc and a damaged Seated Liberty dime

My first Standing Lib at 5.5 inches. The Seated dime was at 6.5 inches and is horribly damaged. It is an "O" mint, and only upon close examination can you see the head, pole and arm of Liberty. The coin is concave and damaged so you will never be able to see the date. What bothers me is that it is so corroded, and all of the other silver from this site has shown no corrosion. This almost looks like it was plated and the plating is separating. Could this be counterfeit?? Anybody have any thoughts on this one? Inquiring minds want to know...

Yep, I agree with heat damage. I found a Barber half a few years ago that looked very similar and it was surrounded with burnt junk.

too bad about the seated but a stander with a date is always a keeper! lookslike you have a good spot to work! congrats!
