OK you silver hounds... Here's your chance to post your totals for the 2006.
How many 90%'ers, 40%'ers, war nicks, and other silver have you found in coin rolls this year?

I will start it off with a big, fat ZERO. ;D

You can update your postings as you add to the silver count.
They say confession's good for the soul. Have you been wondering, like me, how many ounces of silver are out there?

Let's hear about your finds!

HH,
Bob

FINAL PLANNED UPDATE 1/7/07, 4:45 PM EST

OK, people. Here's the final totals for 2006 (unless someone posts a late update, of course).

It will be VERY interesting to see how 2007's totals stack up against 2006's. I am quite curious to see if the silver still in circulation out there is on the decline, or if the supply is big enough to maintain numbers similar to the hefty totals for this year.

90%'ers found = 2488 (899.88 ounces of silver);
40%'ers found = 11,604 (1716.23 ounces of silver);
Quarters found = 745 (135.47 ounces of silver);
Dimes found = 1540 (111.40 ounces of silver);
War nickels = 189 (11.67 ounces of silver);
Dollars = 46 (35.58 ounces of silver)
Indirect silver = 13.1 ounces

Total silver bullion weight = 2923.34 oz (that's 182.71 POUNDS!!!);
Total value of silver = $35,430.83
using 1/5/2007's quote of $12.12 per ounce.

What a year, folks. You guys performed above and beyond the call of duty!

NOTE - only post for 2006 in this thread. Please use the new thread for 2007.

HH,
Bob

PS - I will accept late updates. Happy hunting in 2007, people. Tally ho!

Re: Silver Totals for 2006: 169.01 POUNDS RECOVERED, UPDATED 12/18/2006, 8:00 PM

OK Folks,
Totals have been updated. Even though the collective silver stash has grown nicely, values are down this week because the value of an ounce of silver has taken a major nosedive, from $13.75 to $12.40. This moved our total value downwards, from $34,633.81 to 33,531.18.

The original post has been updated with the new numbers. Good luck in the hunt!!

Merry Christmas and HH,
Bob

PS... I will be out of town next week, so the next update will be a day or two or three before New Year's Day.

HobBob,

I posted a separate post giving my totals for the year, but just in case you're collecting the information from this posting, my totals for 2006 are 1038 40% and 170 90%. Made my goal in the 40%, but came up short on the 90%. I guess I'll just have to try harder next year!

Thanks again - can't wait to see the totals for the year.

Thanks for posting in this thread, Phillip. I only use the data posted in this thread for the yearly totals. I do this so that I don't enter duplicated numbers if and/or when those same finds are posted in two different places.

Re: Silver Totals for 2006: 171.89 POUNDS RECOVERED, UPDATED 12/30/06, 1:30 PM

Hello All,
The weekly update has been performed. Once again, nice job!
We are over 10,700 40%'ers now...and that is only what is being reported here. When I started this thread, I had absolutely no idea that there was that much unrecovered silver just sitting around in vaults, rolls, and bags. Mindblowing!
What will 2007 hold? Will we be able to maintain this recovery rate, or is the silver rush just about over? Only time will tell!

See the original post for the updated totals.

HH all, and a happy 2007 to you!
Bob

I just started this coin roll hunting, so I don't have much to add. But I guess every little bit counts! For 2006, I got:

3 War Nickels
1 Silver Dime
1 40% Half

(I'm working on finding a bank to get some boxes of halves!)

Happy Hunting everyone!

Re: Silver Totals for 2006 FINAL: 181.96 POUNDS RECOVERED, 12/31/2006, 5:30 PM

Happy new year, folks. The final planned update for 2006 has been performed.

For all of you who have diligently searched for and found the silver this year - congratulations!

2007 will burst on the scene in less than 6 hours now (EST). Who knows what the new year will bring? Not me.
I don't consider myself alarmist or a doomsayer, but common sense seems to dictate that setting aside a little cache of precious metals is a prudent investment these days (but, of course, your mileage may vary ;D).
And it is not only addicting, but also a lot of fun!

So whatever your motivation - investment, hedge, hobby, or a combination of the 3: good luck in the chase in 2007!

HH,
Bob
