OK you silver hounds... Here's your chance to post your totals for the 2006.
How many 90%'ers, 40%'ers, war nicks, and other silver have you found in coin rolls this year?

I will start it off with a big, fat ZERO. ;D

You can update your postings as you add to the silver count.
They say confession's good for the soul. Have you been wondering, like me, how many ounces of silver are out there?

Let's hear about your finds!

HH,
Bob

FINAL PLANNED UPDATE 1/7/07, 4:45 PM EST

OK, people. Here's the final totals for 2006 (unless someone posts a late update, of course).

It will be VERY interesting to see how 2007's totals stack up against 2006's. I am quite curious to see if the silver still in circulation out there is on the decline, or if the supply is big enough to maintain numbers similar to the hefty totals for this year.

90%'ers found = 2488 (899.88 ounces of silver);
40%'ers found = 11,604 (1716.23 ounces of silver);
Quarters found = 745 (135.47 ounces of silver);
Dimes found = 1540 (111.40 ounces of silver);
War nickels = 189 (11.67 ounces of silver);
Dollars = 46 (35.58 ounces of silver)
Indirect silver = 13.1 ounces

Total silver bullion weight = 2923.34 oz (that's 182.71 POUNDS!!!);
Total value of silver = $35,430.83
using 1/5/2007's quote of $12.12 per ounce.

What a year, folks. You guys performed above and beyond the call of duty!

NOTE - only post for 2006 in this thread. Please use the new thread for 2007.

HH,
Bob

PS - I will accept late updates. Happy hunting in 2007, people. Tally ho!

Re: Silver Totals for 2006: 143.95 POUNDS RECOVERED, UPDATED 11/25/06, 8:30 PM EST

I haven't been posting my roll searching finds for the last month because I've been busy with a lot of other things. So here are my additional finds for the last 5 weeks,that were not included in the totals that I posted in October.

40% silver halves- 103
90% silver halves-17

Hello Folks,
The weekly update has been performed. Nice job, y'all!!
We are pushing 9700 40%'ers now...and that is only what is being reported here. When I started this thread, I had absolutely no idea that there was that much unrecovered silver just sitting around in vaults, rolls, and bags. Mindblowing!

See the original post for the updated totals.

HH All. You guys are doing just fine! :D

Bob,

My totals thru November 30 are:

898 40%
161 90%

Still quite a ways from my goal of 1000 40% and 200 90%.

I'm hoping the post Christmas visits make the difference. Thanks again for keeping track.

Addition from the last months worth ( 8 boxes) ... quite a few almost skunkers in there.

40% = 43
90% = 30

Half Dollars.

Re: Silver Totals for 2006: 154.40 POUNDS RECOVERED, UPDATED 12/2/06, 6:30 PM

Bob,

Updated totals:

952 40%
166 90%

Interesting week of hunting. Reached a milestone of sorts - just broke the 200 ounce barrier!!!

Interesting time with the tellers this week.

One teller apologized for only having $3 worth of halves - one of the six was a 1954 Benji!

Another teller was delighted to "get rid of" her 3 rolls of halves. I almost fainted when I got them to the car and found one roll was all 1966 and another roll was all 1967. And both rolls were amazing condition! Some of the coins had very thin plastic dividers between them - new one on me!

Thanks again for keeping up with this!
