I got out Saturday morning. What a beautiful day it was out there.
Nice and cool, a peaceful hunt at my old fave place that is now
a middle school, part of the land at least. I hit the soccer sidelines a bit and planned to walk the old trail dreaming of the 5 ct diamond that supposedly out there??
Well, the skeeters were eating me alive and I didn't coming prepared, my bad. So I had to leave but not before keeping the streak alive of always finding a piece of gold or silver there. I dug a 10 Kt Horse Head Pin, very thin and worthless and 1 wheat 1940. Found some other interesting relics.
I also dug an interesting implement and will get the camera out later and add a picture of it to this post. It's a pointed iron piece , old and very strange. I have no idea what it is.

No back up plan so I stopped at a schoolyard on my way back toward home but it had been searched recently in the woodchips and I didn't find much at all, a few coins and some junk jewelry. I had enough for one day and headed home to work the rest of the day on my big yardwork project.

I found a total of $4. 27 - 53 coins... a slow day for sure.

Happy hunting

I added pics of my Iron relic down below, sorry for the delay

Re: Very skimpy Saturday

$4.27 in a day is pretty good to me -- can go buy a pice of silver with it at least -- and you got me beat in gold for the year with just the one horse head -- keep it up 8)

Re: Very skimpy Saturday

Nice finds , Bdoo. Gold is sweet even in small quantity and with the penny ratio on clad 4.27 = alot of targets! Great job and when in Michigan...never leave home without the bug dope! H.H.....Joe

Re: Very skimpy Saturday

Thanks to you all for the supportive comments.
I have had worse days, but I guess I have been getting spoiled lately...lol.

Yes Joe, dang skeeters, should have known better,
but at least I am not alergic to the bites.
My stepkids get whelts from just one bite.

Keep on digging everyone and I will too. Good luck.

smiles!

Re: Very skimpy Saturday

Nice finds for a schoolyard. That little heart key is sweet and so is the horse pin!

Re: Very skimpy Saturday

Thanks Gypsy!

The horse pin is from the previous establisment that was there,
found it in a sandy based area, so not much damage, luckily,
and the junk jewelry which is pretty, came from the elementary school woodchips.

Smiles!

Re: Skimpy Saturday -Whats it pics added

Here's pics of my iron relic "Whats It".

It's definitely iron and about 7 x 3 x 2 inches .
I have no idea what it is.
This place had some farm activity I think
and definitely had a lot of horses and wagons.

Smiles and thanks!
