My father found them on our property with the metal detector. Both coins were the same, they looked exactly like the American 20 dollar gold pieces but at a size smaller then a penny. I sold one and I am still in possession of the other. The discovery of said coins brought about more of my inner treasure hunter and I hope to find more cool items. I'll keep you posted if I do.

The coin looks exactly like the gold coin a few post ups. It has lady liberty on the front with sun like rays and very small stars circling the outside. The reverse has an eagle and sun like rays and right above it says United States of America. It really is gold and in good condition it's just hard to capture it in all it's glory with my hand and a laptop camera. Hope this helps sorry for the bad pics but at least no one can complain that there isn't any up.

What you have is a miniature reproduction of a Saint Gaudens $20 gold coin. It is not a US Mint product. They were made several years back by the Franklin Mint or a similar company. More than likely they were gold plated, but there are some that claim to be 24K. Welcome to the forum, and sorry your coin is not gold. Neat find anyway, Breezie

Thanks for the pic. Interesting find for sure. Doesn't look like gold in the photo, but if taken with camera flash it could mess with the coloring. I believe you when you say gold. I think Breezie has found your answer...Did you make at least $10 on the sale?
