did about an avg of 2 nickel boxes a day with 2 or 1 boxes of pennies mixed in.

walked away with 7 buffalo nickels.
one XF war nickel... and 15 other war nickels.
one 1878 shield nickel
a 1938 D jefferson

150 pre 1950 jeffersons

a 1937 centavos

a reject tray italian coin 1922 in very nice condition

10 KGVI cents

500+ wheaties

one blank planchet

3 IHC oldest 1880

couple steel cents

and too many canadian cents and nickels to count:)

Since the 1878 shield nickel does not have a full date I would estimate about $400.00.

That said fakes were made back in the day using 1870 and 1873 nickels.
It needs to be verified in hand.

I'm not good at grading...but I think with coins like that...just a readable date is close to g-4
I'd have a coin dealer look at it

The Shield looks to be Fair-2 down to possibly even Poor-1 to me; based on that photo, assuming ABGlex is correct with the date. I'm looking forward to more pics as I can't make a date out from the posted pic. Any confirmed 1878 Shield is an awesome find. :headbang: :headbang:

i dont even mean for things like this to happen haha . some people have looked at it and think it was a place where someone had put a dot on it. 60 or so years ago to make it look like a dot cent... depressing
