Grandaughter caught a frog on our last fishing trip before she headed back to Colorado. Actually, she caught a few frogs but let them all go. Gonna miss her a lot!!!
I asked her if she ever tried froglegs and she said, No, and she wasn't about to start now. I also told her she could probably kiss a prince and turn him into a handsome frog.
A lot safer and a heck of a lot more fun than a sight I've got indelibly etched in my mind...
Once, when I was a kid, playing at a small creek, some not-so-smart kid caught himself a crawdad.
Had it in a coffee can and was pokin' at it...
It grabs his thumb, he say Ow! and drops the can, it grabs his other thumb.
About the time I look over to see what the howling is about I see the face of this young kid in sheer terror, howling like the end of the world, with a big, bright red crawdad clamped firmly to each of his thumbs with his hands held straight up in front of himself!
LoL!
That'll teach him to be a jerk towards animals!
He ran off screeching to find mommy, or someone he knew...
LoL!
I'll take that kodak moment to my grave, no matter how long I'm lucky enough to live!
I used to spend hours catching frogs. The bigger the better, Mom hated them. I never did kiss one, but still cauhgt a prince of a husband. Your grand kid's are adorable. Tell her to keep catching them. Thanks for the smile.
