The Launch of the NEW Excalibur II from Minelab

Minelab have been working hard behind closed doors & now these doors are open to Proudly Launch their New Excalibur II to the World.

The New Excalibur II is an Amphibious machine performing as well on land and the beach as it does underwater the New Excalibur II will perform every time.

You can be confident in its ability to penetrate deeply and discriminate accurately underwater at depths of up to 66m (200ft)

While being extremely advanced, the New Excalibur II is also an easy-to-use detector having very few controls that require adjustment after they have been set. The New Excalibur II will operate at maximum performance without the need to ground balance manually.

New features and improved specification of the Excalibur II include.

New High Visibility (Hi-Vis) fluorescent bodywork
New Slimline Coil (8” or 10” option) for improved balance
New NiMH Rechargeable Battery Pack
New Hi-Vis Skid Plate
New Side-Mount Shaft for shallow and surf-wading (available as an optional accessory)

Excalibur II is available from today so pick up your phone & give your local Minelab dealer a call to order your New Excalibur II.

Bright green and yum-yum yellow. Don't know if I like that combo for
limited vis. situations.Nice colors for fishing lures though. As for the
battery packs, didn't I hear that the new ones are permanently sealed,
so you can't change out the batteries when they get old.Plus I heard
that the mounting ears on the packs are slightly different in shape?
Hope all that is not so. I liked the unit just the way it was, except for
the head band being a little too loose, letting the phones slip off
easily. The changes I would like to see would be interchangable
headphone and coil fittings-easy to fix small problems without sending
it back.If you get a new model, let us know what the changes are.
Thanks and HH Joe

I asked Kellyco when they would have them in and Wanda said " sometime in December " In the meantime they are selling out the old style for $1,000.00.
Just guessing here, but based on my experience importing electronics if they changed to lead free solder to comply with European ROHS ( removal of hazardous substances ) requirements they would have to change the circuit boards due to the higher temperature needed to melt the lead free solder. This plus some new paint and presto: Excal ll

That said it's still top of my Xmas list.

Looks like someone there got creative withan airbrush and then added some yellow safety tape to the coil. Other than color- it looks the same to me.

I had been meaning to ask you Sandman if you ever painted your headphones and how it holds up
against the salt water.
I like the blue ones,,yellow stands out too much and now with this bright color wand
you are sure to stand out. Maybe people complained they would lose their Excal
when they laid it down to dig?
:P
