Your Belt Plate is a circa 1840 die stamped Militia Waist Belt Plate. The Affixed S C were Silvered. It has a Rarity of 7. You can see a pic on pg. 390 of Plates and Buckles of the American Military 1795-1874 by Sydney C. Kerksis. Hope this info Helps. trk5capt...

Nice plate. Seems to be in good shape also. I could get that thing cleaned nice. But certain things are better left alone. You can tell it would clean well.
