top left looks like a sun sign of a face
top right is big huge face...the white stuff is some kind of mildew or something
bottom left and right is a pile of rocks that dont seem to belong there
any comments? all natural?

Looks like a tailings pile to me. The face with open mouth means ¨opening.¨ The back wall may be fake. The sun sign may tell you more and needs to be photographed periodically throughout the day. There are more signs on the back wall, analyze everything very carefully before anything is moved. Be very careful.

Okay, this is the first time that I have seen the inside of a hoyo. And I have never thought about looking for clues Inside one, but the two little piles of debris seem to say something about tailings.

White quartz on one side and something else on the other.
Tinhorn is right about documenting without moving anything.

That is also good advice about the center of the view thru the hoyo, take pics at different times of day and around the last week in March. I think March 20 is the day for next years spring equinox. You might want to google that to plan for it.
The small crescent shadow will be at its best then but you may figure it out by multiple pics in a day.

I've tried to study the pics that you posted but my phone shuts down in less than a minute every time I try, not sure why yet.

Look at the center of the target view to see if there is a cross. It gets fuzzy as I zoom in on it and may be just an allusion on my phone.

Never give up. You'll find color soon.

Edit : 8/26/16 5am...
I googled spring equinox and found the date of spring equinox to be March 20, 2017.

I also found one site that stated that there are two equinoxes. One in September, but they did not give the exact date, SO, I advise you to check a site that you trust and go with it.

I have been going by info ,passed on thru treasure hunters, and they May be mixed up.

My understanding has been that it is the dates that the sun was directly over the Tropic of Capricorn or the Tropic of Cancer depending upon which side of the equator you are searching.

I am sure of one thing at this point...
I need to study the subject more. Before handing out info on the subject and re-edit my book yet again.
Read up the subject ( the word " solstice may be the game changer).

For now, I need sleep.

Anyone in Arkansas / Missouri looking for jewels, precious stones, I have a theory about the gold that was once here, It may be only because I have seen so many empty holes that it seems so disheartening to me, need a different pasture to graze in. Google Earth seems to work very well to locate a PIPE. I could retire on a diamond's that's still here for the findings there is a lots of small creeks to just wander around with a small dog as a companion and you could do it in the fall / winter / spring after snakes and all the crawly critters went to cover.

A round circle that can be seen from Google Earth is a pipe that comes deep in the earth and can contain Gem's, We are working one but its slow going, There's one a few miles south of Cimmaron N.M. on the West Side of the road looks to be 2 / 5/ miles across, Near the Boys Ranch that's about all that I have. Check Google Earth. There's a working strip mine in Canada,

Maybe it's all the medications I take these days after my heart attack, but I don't remember any of those places being in Arkansas :icon_scratch:

What does the second post have to do with the first? Sorry, I'm an old man who must have missed something. Please enlighten me ... down here in Arkansas.

I'm pleading "medicated" on both counts. I didn't put them together till I read the last post.
