Very nice old match safe. Is there a striking area on bottom? Great Find! You may polish it without hurting its value.

Yeah, you can see the striking area in the photos..............

on the bottom, I gave thought to having it shaped up and polished at the jeweler, but currently it is in a display case, it can always be repaired in the future, or, should it be "cleaned" at all? :-\

Excellent find.

As far as cleaning or polishing, don't!

As for restoring it's original shape, do! You should take that to a silversmith who has specialized dies they can use to reshape it. Without inspecting it in person, it looks like it could be restored from your pictures, hopefully there aren't any creases. People do collect those and its probably worth having it restored.
