I have owned an AT Pro and an AT Gold. I resold them. Bling, blang, good, no never mind, change our mind, oh is that a Deus over in that field! (insert wolf whistle). The machines wasted my time trying to decide if the signal was good or not. There's nothing wrong with them, but I don't like the up downs and sideways and maybe's. Facebook? Like I really care about selfies and facebook? A lot of the stuff I have found I have never told anyone about.
I just like to dig, the machines I use serve my purpose. I've used all the major brands in the last 3 years, and have settled on a favorite for me.
Garrett makes very good machines, I still have one of their pinpointers, but they are not as well suited to hard core relic hunting like I do. They are reasonably priced and Garrett has a great publicity factor. That's why there are more people talking about them in the social media. Everybody needs to choose what works for them. Sometimes it's just trial and error till you find what works good for you.
