Your oil lamp is from the 1893 Chicago Worlds fair, United States Glass company made them. I am not sure of the pattern name , most of them had state or city names. Good luck on your dig.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yep the Owl turned out nicely. One lady I contacted says it is a Challinor and Taylor piece from Pittsburg Pa. Circa 1885. :o jgas

That is a real nice pitcher you've found there. I'd check with local antique dealers to see where you could send it or take it to a reputable outfit and get the cracks somewhat repaired. It is a stunning piece of glassware. It's probably well worth trying to restore and repair. Super cool find. Congratulations. I just love it. I don't know what the repair would cost but I'm sure it would be well worth the price. If you need help with the repair cost I've got plenty of clad I'd be glad to help with the expense of the restoration of that beautiful glass piece. That is a pretty rare find from a "dump." I have to say banner!

I am going to look into it for sure as far as getting it fixed if at all possible. It was incredible that it came out of the pit at least 8 feet down. There was another pitcher in there too but it was totally smashed. It has to be one of the best pieces I have found, especially from the 1800's. Thanks for the reply JRich and Jeff, I appreciate it. jgas
