Oh ya....we hit the ball field ARC....got calusa pottery, iron ships spikes from the galleon camp, and I got a deep hit i could not recover....my boy didn't have the patience after 30 minutes of digging. Ill have to return with a real digging tool....whatever it is, its buried in a burnt waste layer either from Indian activity, or the spanish salvage camp. In one pic you can see the top of a Spanish palm right behind home plate....tons of trash and debri have been pushed into the Indian wells, so its slow going !! One gets the feeling the site is holding treasure somewhere under the trash....I shall return as McArthur would say !! I pitched to the boy and we got some batting practice in....we would take a break and then detect behind the backstop !! It was a fun morning !!

Great to see that you got some detecting time/and quality time with your son.
Many times when a site is so overgrown/trashed up I have that fantasy of being a billionaire/buy it/sift it through a mechanical trommel plant........
Just mentioned it to the Mrs........"You go ahead and fantasize Jim-but you're not buying one"

I found a small 1900s-1920s dump underneath a tree at a friends house. Most of everything was broke, but I came away with some nice things. The fork was silver plated, and is marked 1877 NF Co. Niagra Falls Silver Company was taken over by Onida in 1900, so this is a late throwaway.
