I live 200 feet up on a hill from the road. Once I get down to the cleared road, I ain't getting back up it till the snow melts.

So made a big pot of homemade chili and will just lay back and watch the playoff games today.

Tomorrow is another retired day that is supposed to get in the mid 40s. Let the melting begin.

I'm definitely not going out today.

Bright Sunshine.
22 Degrees
and everybody and their Brother are outside Digging out.
Not a PenDot truck in sight since they started.
this Evening after they get done & go in for Dinner,
The PenDot Trucks will start plowing everyone Shut.
then tomorrow Morning after they all dig Out again,
The Pendot trucks will be back to widen the roads,
Plowing them in again.

I will be be starting to shovel to the road Tomorrow, But will stop about 8 Feet from the road
& do the Final Break through Tuesday after the rain, snow or ice.
so I can get my Pharmacy Delivery.
They are going to need to come to me this Month :(

as far as my car , I expect to be out by the 20th of February so I can restock
so until it gets close I probably won't shovel out to my vehicle.

of course that depends on us Not getting an all time record Breaking storm Next week again

I think drone deliveries would come in handy for you now Jeff.

I'm hoping we get a good thaw before the next batch of snow this week.

We have bright sunshine but 30 for a high today.

Well I got another New Neighbor & he just come out with the Backhoe from the Mine,
So I shoveled my way out back & talked to him a bit. And he opened me Up so I could get around .

As expected he just Left , I walked in the house & 2 Pendot trucks
following each other Widening the roads just blocked the Driveway off again :BangHead:
Glad I'm not needing to go off til Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'd be P.o'd ! I know they do it on purpose.
They see a Backhoe moving & they watch til it disappears

Y'all be careful shoveling snow off the roof. Some years back a couple of guys were doin just that over near Creede and started a mini avalanche. All the roof snow came down at once and buried them, and they died. Don't wind up in a situation where everybody's standin around lookin down at you sayin 'Well that's the first time that ever happened!'

That is usually how it goes, the only ones we can depend on is ourselves and hopefully good neighbors.
I know exactly what you mean about the plows, I swear they just hide & wait some place till your done shoveling, go in the house and take your boots off!
Then they bury your driveway!

Here in Middle TN. it rained last night and it was 48 here when daylight broke. All the snow is now gone and I'm sure my ridge top road is now just a bunch of mud.

I wish I could say the Same :(

they are predicting 40 today .
was supposed to be above Freezing 40 Minutes ago. But it's still 30 Degrees.
& So much snow, I'm not sure if I want to shovel any more.
I've got Aches where it makes it hard to Stand up Today
and am only Half way through My Paths.

fingers are crossed , weather also says quiet the next 7 days
and above freezing during each day. of course we will still get night time freezes
and a 10 degree lower temps possibility up top here if the sun doesn't burn off the clouds

Jeff does your city or county have a help line you can call, to help shovel you out? If so make use If It.
If not maybe family, friends, or neighbors.
The more water The snow absorbs the heavier it gets.

I never heard of a Help line for that & no I don't ask for help for things I condsider
Trivial , & in spite of My health, & The Pain involved in Shoveling.
The fact I can do it at my own pace up here. No government Spooks
saying it Must be Done in 24 hours or at all ! it is Trivial to me

Of course if there were kids around here yet Looking to Earn money Shoveling,
I would hire them. But I'm not sure there are any Kids in town here anymore.
At least non that are out of Grade school age.

LOL I don't do Churches.
To avoid discussing organized Religion,
let's just say I prefer they go their own way.
so asking from them would be Hypocritical on my part.
of course Jehovah's Witnesses don't come Knocking on snow days.
I'd hand them a couple Shovels & go have coffee til they are Done :laughing7:

Maybe tell them a Dirty Joke or three afterwords in order to reward them
for their service

Lol! You sound like me! I'm out shoveling snow and people are telling me to take it easy, and I tell them if I took it easy I'd be dead by now!
Didn't know how much you can handle of the snow.
Sounds like your good! You're able if you can do it at your own pace. Just like me it May take me longer but I can do it.
