Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $7531.94

Joined your site last month, didnt see this until today. the 21st.
I grew up in the Salvation Army Church, alas I no longer attend it, however, I still support it.
My husband and I give yearly at the office and still give at the kettle's.
This year, we elected to donate at the kettle's and to adopt a child off the angel tree.
At the kettle's we donated a total of 250.00 divided into 5 w-mart's in our area.
We spent 200.00 on a Angel that we adopted.

We don't need thanks, because I know first hand how much this money helps the needy families out there.
When I was a teenager I volunteered every chance I got during the Christmas season ringing the bells and working at the angel tree, and distributing the gifts to families.
So I'm sure what each and every one of you are doing will be appreciated and blessed.

Doe and Darrell

Wow, that's awesome Jay, very generous.

I am including all donations that I am alerted about, not just our clad.
Also, if someone donates their time to a cause, I will add their name to the contributer list so you and your gift will added to our lists. Thanks!

Happy holidays! You have made a lot of kids VERY happy!

Just WoW :o Ya'll!!!! Would you look at that running total! I know there are a lot of folks that are going to feel so blessed from your generosity! :)

After tumbling my crusty little pile of coins, I sorted out the 'not so good ones' and I put the keepers into a tin. I made one last run to the local Walmart today. The place was packed and I parked all the way at the end of the parking lot. Got my tin out of the back of the car and headed up the isle to the kettle. The same man ringing the bell there today was the very same man ringing the bell the last time I had put in my digging finds for that day. I asked if he remembered me putting the freshly dug coins in his kettle and he chuckled and said he did. :) I told him about the donations that the members here were giving and that I had my donation in the tin ready to pour them into the kettle. Now, I don't know about ya'll, but that kettle sure didn't look as big today as it did when I placed money in it as a kid. :P SO...he suggested I just leave my tin of money sitting beside the kettle and it would be safe till they came for the pick ups. I don't have a clue as to the amount but for the sake of having a total I think it's pretty safe to say $15 would cover it. ;)
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday!

Nana :)

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $9153.26

Thanks Nana!! Awesome gesture.

Also... on my last day of work, I took in all my Canadian clad from the past two seasons (it gets rejected in the coinstar machines anyway). I live in South Eastern Michigan so I find Canadian coins almost every hunt. We have two guys from Canada that work at our office, they commute every day so I gave it to them to put into a donation kettle over there when they go home. That was $12.86 in change.

:) Bobby

It was a slow year due to my wife having surgery on her back and me playing " Mr. Mom "... I learned why she calls the vaccuum " Jaws ".....LOL.... But I managed to still find $ 56.19 in clad thanks to the local beaches at the lake down the road. Contributed it to SA in front of Walmart yesterday. Hope to have a better year coming up.

Thanks for all the good reads guys. Keeps me motivated when I am down and not finding anything, knowing the BIG ONE could be the next Beep.....

Got permission to search some old sites not hunted before as far as I can tell, soon as the ground thaws out here in Indiana.....Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting everyone......

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $9438.73

I just received this Personal Message from Digginman

Digginman said:
This is an unbelivable story, my hands are shaking and my eyes are full of tears.

DigginGirl, my daughter (Ashley), received a $5.00 gold piece that I dug up this past spring. It was my most awesome find ever. I gave it to her for her birthday in July. I was showing her the thread about the donations to charity today, your thread. Today, while Christmas shopping she produced it out of her purse. She thought she could spend it. I explained to her that it wasn't used for money anymore. She said she wanted to buy another girl's dad a detector so he could find her a gold coin.

I lost it!!! I am now. I had a hard time driving, but I took her to a coin dealer. He gave her $200.00. We went to Walmart and she bought the Bounty Hunter that cost me a little to make it right. She put it in the Toys for Tots box. Some kid is getting a detector for Christmas.

I can't type anymore. I am so proud of my daughter.

Digginman and Ashley.

Oh my... I am having an emotional breakdown reading this and will have to update the list later. I just got home from a great night out and was not expecting something like this.

Peace and love to you all
BDoo :'(

:)
