This is my first day detecting since the ground has thawed. I was able to detect a yard from a home that dates back to 1790. The days events led me to my first Barber Quarter and my first Walking Liberty Half. They are both in great shape. I also grabbed a Merc while I was there. I know that neither is anything to write home about, but I was pretty excited. Thanks for looking.

With the exclusion of a very few here these finds would make us all pretty darned happy. You did quite fine. I'd like to get a few of those myself but it seems that's a once a year kind of thing for me. Keep the digger in the ground. Looks like you have a nice place to hunt and a good idea on recovery.

nice finds!

We're still really deep in snow up here ::)

Try to see if you can use a smaller search coil and re-check those spots and that general area, might be even deeper items if the house is that old! Look behind the property, there might be some great relics if you can locate the outhouse or trash dump!
