This may have been posted already.
If it has, mods feel free to take it down.

10/2013

Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the US Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The Statement of Purpose from the Bill reads:

"To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."

The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power. All but two are Democrats and the two are Independents.

Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.

Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bennett (D-CO)
Blumenthal (D-CT)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Cardin (D-MD)
Carper (D-DE)
Casey (D-PA)
Coons (D-DE)
Cowan (D-MA)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feinstein (D-CA)
Franken (D-MN)
Gillibrand (D-NY)
Harkin (D-IA)
Hirono (D-HI)
Johnson (D-SD)
Kaine (D-VA)
King (I-ME)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Landrieu (D-LA)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
McCaskill (D-MO)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Merkley (D-OR)
Mikulski (D-MD)
Murphy (D-CT)
Murray (D-WA)
Nelson (D-FL)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schatz (D-HI)
Schumer (D-NY)
Shaheen (D-NH)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Udall (D-CO)
Udall (D-NM)
Warner (D-VA)
Warren (D-MA)
Whitehouse (D-RI)
Wyden (D-OR)

People: This needs to go viral. These Senators voted to let the UN take OUR guns. They need to lose their next election.

We have been betrayed. 46 Senators Voted to Give your 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights to the U.N.

How does the Legislative Branch instruct the Executive Branch as to what it cannot (or can) do? The Senate has the duty and obligation to consider a treaty negotiated by the Executive. It can ratify or reject a treaty presented to it.

I don't see how it can constitutionally ban the Executive from doing its job. This is far too similar to Congress passing mandatory sentencing laws - a terrible idea that is, in my opinion, as unconstitutional as it is not only unnecessary but very damaging.

Good luck to all,

Whatever dude.... The single most important thing to know prior to going into battle it to know who the enemy is. We are fighting the same fight our forefathers fought 240 years ago all over again. It's extremely important to know who is on your side and who is not.

Thanks for posting that njal.
If they wish to give up THEIR rights, that's on them.
I will not relinquish MY rights, and sorry if I do not feel, I am held to or beholden, to what THEY may wish of me.

I have to wonder, if any on that list, have ever been the random victim of a violent crime?
I'd bet not.

Dianne Feinstein was the first person to find Harvey Milk and George Moscone - murdered in City Hall by Dan White. She was Mayor of San Francisco during the 101 California massacre and the Spear Street Tower massacre. I think she knows, first hand, something about gun violence.

I'm sure she did all the right things to stay alive, once she came and found some folks, "after the fact".
Having worked many "victim of violent crimes" claims, and also having been a victim of random "happenstance" myself,
all I'll say, unless you been there, you know nothing of what you speak of.

I am alive, because I did all the right things "during the fact", not afterwards. There is a BIG difference in watching horror and terror on tv, than being right in the middle of it!

Her and her husband have no qualms about selling and arming Iraqi's with guns. Maybe she just wants to cut out the competition so her husbands company can corner the market.

Well you'd be wrong and it wouldn't be a first, I'm sure.

In every state, there is an agency for Victims of Violent Crimes. It is for ppl who are innocent victims of violent crimes, and it pays up to $10K for medical bills, whether a person is insured or not. When ppl come into hospitals as innocent victims of violent crimes, they incur bills.
If they are not adequately covered by medical insurance or have none, then their bills are submitted as a "claim" for provider re-imbursement.

How many medical hospital claims, your ever filed or billed in your life?
There's really no need for you to address me ever again, I find you to be rather rude, among some other things.

I misunderstood your use of "claim." I read it that you didn't believe Sen. Feinstein was there at the time. You suggested she doesn't know gun violence first hand - and that's nonsense. She does.

As for me being rude - I trust here on TN I will not upset anyone I either like or respect. That, at least, is my goal.

Here's the thing with Menendez (D-NJ)
Last year they were investigating him for having sex with underage prostitutes
in the Dominican Republic, amongst other things.Deep pockets I think shut the investigation
down or it came up empty. Again deep pockets.

This month there naming a school after him here N.J.:BangHead:
School 3 in West New York renamed after Sen. Robert Menendez | NJ.com

Just crazy.

Yeak, how's that working out for you? (rhetorical, of course)
Have a nice life and good luck to you, too!

njal, it would also be good, imho, to know who stands up for our constitution and our citizens.
Like a pro/con list.

What a patronizing load of crap.. You purposely pretend not to see any of my posts and refuse to address any of them no matter how innocent the question might be but you know where that "report button" is if I even remotely ruffle your feathers don't you ? I sincerely hope that this post proves that you neither "like or respect" me. I would never want to be associated with someone like you.

Hey NHB,
I have come to believe, some ppl must be so miserable, possibly abused, and have such a sucky life, that they have no clue, how to make lemonade outta the lemons given to them. They do seem to relish in forcing others to suck on their sour fruits.

We should actually have great pity for them(I have a close in-law, that is this way, it's sad). There is so much good in this world, and ppl who have not allowed themselves to be mentally crippled, from what this world throws at them.
It really is sad. I for one, wish for those types, all the goodness life can give them. They too, deserve a good, happy, and prosperous life.
Ppl that screw their kids heads up and mess with them, yeah, I can only hope, there is a special place in hades, reserved for them.
Talk about being a stumbling block, for your fellow man, ya know!

Feinstein has an alternate agenda & its against the United States of America. She is a hypocrite as she carries & has armed security guards. There should be TERM LIMITS for all government employees. We pay their salary - They work for us - I will not go down easy. Kat

2 kats... I like kats.. lol Anyway I actually respect OB's right to his opinion and the Constitution gives him the right to express it. What I have no respect for is people who try to force their beliefs on others. It's that whole pesky "right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness" thing.. And I have nothing against having an honest discussion about the pros & cons of both sides of any argument. When someone is purposely rude and takes a position that their way "must" be the correct way because they are better than me or smarter than me and they try to reinforce it with bull....stuff and lies I get offended. When they throw little snipes and cleverly worded insults while crying to the mods that I am insulting them it's "game on"... There are 2 members here who do that constantly and they are the worst offenders. We all know who they are and I see no need to name names because that will just give them something else to whine about to the mods.

Any government employee, that is any person who receives money from taxpayers, who is guarded, protected, escorted by armed personnel, body guards ect. should not expect law abiding to restrict their own defense potential to anything less! Yet they do.I don,t mind being different but not differently armed,or should I say I should be armed as your hired (by whom and who pays?) to do the dirty wet work for me stand ins are.

That's an interesting question. How about "A complete waste of time." If the treaty is negotiated, the Senate can consider ratifying it. Until then, why spend time and other resources on the matter?

I don't think voting on the measure in unconstitutional. The Senate can vote on almost anything it wants - other than a revenue bill that hasn't already passed the House. I do believe that if it passed the resolution wouldn't be constitutional.

Good luck to all,
