According to my book, I have just found a penny worth $50.000.00!!!

I am SHOCKED, SHAKING and in DISBELIEF!!!

I did the best I can to take a pic to show you guys, and if you look, you will see the DOT!
Posting a few pics of it and what the book shows.

I know this will have to be "authenticated" as there have only been 4 confirmed but, I'm crossing my fingers and praying that it is indeed an original!

Here's a closer view enlarged by PBK ~ thanks PBK! ;)

THE VERDICT!

He say's "NO DOT" at ALL! He doesn't see a dot!
I was like, what?? I see the dot, plain as day!
I took his magnifying glass and looked and seen the dot!
Wasn't gonna agrue with the "Professional"

So, I'll leave at at this and you all can decide! :'(

After taking a close look - I decided the dot was NOT in the same place as the one shown in the book.... PLUS the fact that there are other "dots" on your coin from corrosion. I would say, if you have found a 1936 "dot" penny, you are incredibly unlucky, because it looks like it probably isn't one. :(

THAT being said, I'll give you $5 for it! ;)

Jeff,

(I.C.C.S) in Toronto. It's the closest place to me so, is why i took it there and i have been told that they are good.
He took one quick look, and I mean quick and disregarded it and went on to tell me that there are only 4 found and rare blah, blah, blah!
It would have been one thing for him to have said...yup, dot is there but, it's fake! I could have handled that! However, No dot! Sorry, he is SO wrong!
Don't get me wrong, i am not upset at his decision, I just don't think it was a right one!
I would like get a 2nd opinion but, don't know anywhere else close to me where i could drive it there personally :'(

My Thoughts Exactly.

Dot Is Fake.

Dot is Caused by Damage.

Dot is Something, because I see Dot.

You, & this whole forum are seeing a Dot.

Therefore. "No Dot" meant in his mind he was thinking.

"I'm not even going to look" :(

Girl don't give up completely, get a second opinion. I think he was just not interested or in a mood. Real or not the excitement is contageous and you've got the blood pumping around here. Good luck! Dot or no dot, keep it in your heart!

Yes,definitely get a second opinion from someone who has the courtesy to take his time to look at it closely. It's worth getting several different opinions if you can.

There IS a dot.

In the right spot? Counterfeit? Caused by corrosion?

I don't have a clue.

What I do know is that if I thought that there was even a remote chance that it might be genuine, I'd submit it to a professional numismatic authentication service— not a local dealer or collector or any sort of self-proclaimed "expert"— and if the verdict was unfavorable, I'd spend a few more bucks for a second opinion from a similar service.

Don't let a little discouragement keep you from seeing this dream through!
