That's a pretty big leap...what makes you think that it could be a jet exhaust???

Certainly not a "jet exhaust pipe" and i strongly doubt there's any "platinum" in that. As far as the aircraft that were used in the fighting in WWII over the Philippines - I believe it was all "prop engined" planes. The Germans had a "jet" but not in that area at that time...

That piece looks "chromed" - relatively modern. If it was found "in the middle of the jungle" and was WWII era - that chrome would be pitted to pieces (rotted pretty badly)...

Might want to post it in the "what is it" forum - maybe someone can help i.d. it for you...

Are you sure your dimensions are correct? It doesn't even look close to 10 inches in diameter. You are holding it in your hand. It looks under 4 inches in diameter from your pics.

it is a hard tube with length of 20 inches, 10 inches diameter,
10" circumference I assume you mean? (unless you're hands are larger than a Wookie's)

Sorry... no aircraft parts here... especially exhaust parts. Jets never had stuff like that at their rear ends...

Someone call a mathematician or something...

Those #s just don't seem right - 10 inch circumference and only 3.25 across? It doesn't look that thick...

It does look a bit familiar - it could have come out from the tunnel with Yama's treasure...

just pay ateention on dia. .. the thick of the tube is about 1/8 of an inch.. you now calculate it by just disregard the circumference

OK, what did the rocket exhaust on a Baka bomb look like?

I DO believe they were used in the vicinity of the PI...

If it can't be budged with a torch, there's SOMETHING goin' on!

Definitely not part of a jet. Jets don't have exhaust pipes. I'm guessing even landing gear would be made out of an aluminum alloy. Weight is a huge issue in the construction of aircraft, and that looks to be 1/4" cast iron. I would also assume that in the Philippine jungle that any chrome would be long gone because of the humidity on anything from WWII. My guess is it's a modern piece of broken heavy equipment. How far away from the road did you find it? It could have been from road building equipment.
Did you use Acetylene or Oxygen/Acetylene mix to try to melt it?

Good Luck,
Zym
