Thank you so much, Sir! Wasn't too sure about the age thing either. I still have to take this to the Historical Society in Berwick. There's the chance they can point me towards the truth. Other than that, I don't know what else I can do except bother the folks at the retirement center, lol. Thanks for your help!

A good friend at work talked to an elderly friend of his who worked at this company. He confirmed this is absolutely a lost tool marker. When a worker lost a tool he/she reported it to the tool locker and this tag was hung in it's place so a replacement could be ordered. He said the solder marks were where a brass wire had been. The wire was used to hang the tag instead of the hole some posters had suggested was normally used. Thanks to all who gave me their input and interest.

So a wire was soldered to the backside? Interesting. I guess this one is solved.
