Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

I checked metal detecting, because I hunt just whatever I happen to find. I am not above taking advantage of clad along with jewelry and such. I guess jewelry is my favorite finds? I especially get excited when I find a ring no matter if it's just costume jewelry. I am a bit partial to silver though. Monty

I checked Metal Detecting as my only TH venture; at least for now. I've been following prospecting and coin roll hunting forums here, too, and may get into one or both of them soon, but for now just MDing.

Started out in May 2005, mainly coin and jewelry hunting. Now I spend more time in wooded areas looking for older coins, artifacts and relics. I enjoy the variety of finds, and most of all the peace and quiet the wooded areas provide.

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

I picked MDind and garage sales.Mostly I hunt wooded areas but I'll try other locations if there is any potential for finding anything of a historic nature. Finding an old axhead or horseshoe in the middle of nowhere gets my imagination going. What was here a 100 years ago?200?MM2

Metal detecting and garagesales/flea markets. I have been detecting since 1972 at old lumbering sites and along tram roads. Never got into coin shooting. I am sure there are a lot of coins at the lumber camps, but I prefer the tools of the trade.

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

My answers were:
Metal Detecting
Garage Sales
Ebay
Dumpster Diving ( on an occasion ot two)
Bottle Digging

My greatest treasures have been found at garage sales...unbelievable what people unknowingly sell.....gold, silver, platinum, rubies, etc. I have hit a jackpot or two in my years of garage sales.

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

i have noticed that alot of things, like coins sell very cheep on ebay. does anyone ever buy them cheep there and sell them for more else where?

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

Dumpster Diving LOL! I dumpster dive for boxes when we move, sometimes I run across a few goodies (old display racks, rods and bars, wooden display boxes, etc). People throw away the darndest things sometimes!

Prospecting, relic hunting, coin shooting, cache hunting, garage/yard sales, dumpster diving, rockhounding (jade and quartz with precious metals tops the list).
