Re: what's this?

This is what this object is. The Laser Geodynamics Satellite I or LAGEOS I, a NASA spacecraft. There is a link for this story a couple of replies up. This and another satellite were sent into orbit last year to test Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

This is a 0.6 m dia. sphere and designed to last 50 years!

Coinshooter-

What's the deal? Some kind of test? That is the exact same picture that's on the web site pointed out by Yosemite Sam. Just wondering.

Re: what's this?

Well it ain't a golf ball. The dimples do not match up. If we knew what size it is maybe we could come up with something. It looks like some kind of plastic doo-dad with a "gold plated' finish. Like one of those orbs that poke`mon toys used to come in. HH! Chris

Sure wish I could dig a little deeper in my pockets so the Gov't could afford to conduct more experiments like that! Sorry, wrong place for political sarcasm. HH to all.

Re: what's this?

Just watch the little ball as it slowly turns and concentrate. You are feeling relaxed. Your eyelids are getting heavy. You are getting sleepy...sleepy...now get out your checkbooks and write a blank check payable to nedigger and mail to... ;D

One wonders if Coinshooter is learning how to become a 'Troll'-- someone who posts an arbitrary message just to get the rest of us chatting?! ???

Re: what's this?

Oh, Nedigger-- I wrote a check for $10,000. Is that enough? I didn't get your address, though-- ;D
