Hi,
Where at on the radio frequency spectrum do the frequencies from common VLF detectors operate? The terminology "VLF" or "Very Low Frequency" make me think these types of radio frequencies are much lower than even the HF band or "High Frequency" band on the radio spectrum.
Thanks

540-1600khz am and 88-108mhz fm. VLF is generally in the 6-15khz range,WAY lower than even the lowest am channel. Minelab FBS is advertised as 1.5-100khz. This mostly winds up being a range of harmonics, not primary frequencies,as I understand it. Gold hunting machines are typically much higher in the range (50-100khz)than coin hunting machines(6-15khz).
Any or all of this information may be utter bull$hit.

Detectors use frequencies of 7kHz to 30 kHz.

Submarines using ELF technology go down into the VLF bands to shoot signals through the Earth.
