In an effort to stymie the winter doldrums, TH is allowing me to hold a simple contest. So here's how it is going to work;

I have selected a number between 1 - 300 and the first person to guess that number wins a free book, Florida's East Coast Gold & How You Can Find It. (Seeker41 is keeper of the selected number.)

Rules: Only one guess per person per day. And, you must also include either a picture of a find, your equipment, or a word or two of treasure hunting wisdom. Should be fun and entertaining and might help to keep hunters inspired through these winter months. :thumbsup:

Some really cool finds! I think that's a huge part of the hobby for me, you just never know what's popping out the scoop next. You may know it's probably a ring, but you just never know what it's going to look like. I've found some junk rings that were absolutely awesome and some gold rings that were just flat out ugly. Every find is an adventure. :thumbsup:

bigscoop,

I'll go with number 67.

Me thinks you didn't choose a number....y'all just teasing us....lol.

Wisdom:-In 20 or so years of detecting my greatest finds have been the detecting friends I've made....the finds are just trinkets.

Another one of my favorite finds....a native style pendant...hollow in the middle with a small hole top and bottom....never saw anything similar posted before.....

It was found at a local park that was a fairground type of area circa 1900 and is possibly from a native war bonnet as there was a native reserve nearby....just a supposition on my part.

Regards + HH

Bill

That's not an aluminum can, it is 6 dimes. What you think you hear is not allways what it is.
