I wish I could help. I only try to buy sterling. Some people do well with it from what I hear.

If I had known the background of the "IS" stamp, I would have passed on them.
I'm just learning about silver,...the hard way..? lol

I have made many a "mistake" when buying so I can sympathize. Study the world hall marks as this is where I find my most luck. Also look in unusual areas. I find a lot of silver with marks not where you would expect.

And study silver-plate patterns. There is actually money to be made in silver-plate, but you have to know which ones are valuable. I always pass on Rogers usually, but I still check them out closely, just in case.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll keep and use these.

There is money to be made on virtually any vintage flatware if you buy it cheap enough. Certain sets will take longer to sell than others but I have sold every set I ever listed. I have 2 or 3 sets now that I need to list. Including a plain old stainless steel set called Carousel by Hampton Silversmiths. Your 24 piece lot should sell for at least $40 plus shipping if it polishes up nicely and is not worn out and scratched up.
