SAFE DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE 2011 SEASON!!!!!!!

Send to:

History Detectives
P.O Box 112
Christiansburg Va. 24068

:hello:

Kids at our camp detecting! The Little Tikes! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:
They love the new pit we designed for them!!!!
Kids dig Gold colored Aluminum tokens to be used at our camp store for toys and clothing.
It was a success. :hello2:
This is the first of it's kind in America.
We are the first 4-h center in the World, to make Metal detecting and actual program!!!! Yes, 4-h is World Wide.
Hopefully, others will follow our footsteps.
There were 3 options for the kids to pick from.
The kids were asked to raise their hands on what they wanted to do for the "I wanna do" for an hour the evening.
When treasure hunting was mentioned, almost ALL of the hands were raised!~ :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:
We just didn't have enough machines.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. :)

We get new kids all summer long who get the opportunity to treasure hunt in Americas first, kids Metal Detecting treasure pit.
Special thanks to Carolyn at Supersod for the sod donation.
Also, Bill @ Landsaver Asheville NC

How can i pass up the offer of a great digging tool!!!!! Mike the detector is on it way on Friday!!! it will be fixed !!! Cleaned!!! and a supply of batteries to operate it!!!!! Please give it to some one who deserves it!!! also when i upgrade i will contact you to purchase a new one and donate the Whites classic ID 5 to the 4H either to your group or local if you wish!!!
I'm going to explain to you what we will use it for. :)
Obviously, I have created a big sand pit. :o
I throw gold tokens in it for kids to find with donated Metal detectors. :hello2:
We get any where from 125-200 kids per week :o all summer long. They get to do cool things like metal detecting, White water rafting, mountain climbing, trout fishing, archery etc..
Your machine will be used by different kids every week. :icon_thumleft: The machine stays here for them to enjoy for as long as the machine "Beeps" ;D
We cant give them the machines, they simply borrow them for the program
Thank you AP (Again) and Chug!

We decided that to help keep you costs down that instead of sending a supply of batteries with it that we will purchase a rechargeable battry set and spare batteries!!!! and send them along with the detector!!!!!

Just wanted to say thank you on this post first!!! A package arrived today in the mail and i tore it open to find this!!!!! I cant wait to get out to test it out!!!!

I love it Mike been watching you guys build it an waiting for the day we got actual hunt pics . :icon_thumleft: your guys are great man the smiles on their faces are wonderful , cool seeing bare feet while they detect an know that pit is trash free :icon_thumleft: once again awsome job .
Thanks Buddy.

One problem, It's not draining on one end.
I have to put a perforated pvc pipe on the end or, stock it with trout!

there ya go what a great Idea Man set aside another chunk as big as the sand box fill it with water knee deep an when you get the trout feed each one a chunk of weight an the kids could learn how to water detect to lol :laughing9: I love it awsome idea :laughing9:

jeeze, I just read a thread about how many people are out on the Florida beaches with detectors now and how the finds have dried up because of all the new treasure hunters, then I come to this thread and see you guys are creating even more treasure hunters to find all the stuff that is mine, mine I tell ya... hahahaha just kidding... looks like a fun project. Good job.
