Hey! I wonder if you can contact a spirit using something you find detecting, like an old coin or relic, placed on an ouija board? Never used one I might add. Guess I shouldn't joke about that! lol!

Every time I find cars underwater I wonder if they are still "occupied"

I remember reading about a haunted chair years ago,not that yould bring one home mding. When I read about it an antique shop owned it.The owner had to hang the chair up on the wall to keep people from sitting on it.Because whoever sat on the chair, died.I'm looking for it now on the net.

I absolutely never gave hauntings a thought. Maybe I did believe the battlefields might have some lost spirits wandering around. I will tell my story on here someday but not right now. I had an encounter at Shiloh. It was a voice in my ear. Nothing more. But it was real. Something or somebody was talking to me as I dug relics in Pebble Hill / Michie Tennessee but there was nobody there.

Hiya folks! My wife teases that I'm going to bring home a ghost with the relics and things I bring home after a hunt. I thought this could be an interesting thread.

Discuss.......
/... Well she is not wrong any item you dig up or buy at a thrift store ..... When brought home you could bring home a ghost or a demon with it......

That's not true. if I unlock my truck with the remote it stays unlocked until I lock it or get in. It has stayed unlocked overnight.

The guy that started me in coin collecting in the mid 1970s was a German guy named Joseph Engler (turns out was not his real name). This guy's house was like a freakin museum. He had a laundry hamper full of silver dollar rolls. He had about a dozen books of old gold coins. Very nice guy. He sold me all kinds of coins. He would explain the histories of different things he had. A big part of his collection were Nazi Uniforms and insignia. As I found out a few years later, one of those SS Uniforms was his in his teens. OOOOPS! He had what Voodoo Practicioners call gris-gris bags hanging all over his house. When I asked what they were for, he always said to keep angry spirits away. I thought it had something to do with the Nazi Stuff. IT DIDN'T! After I had known him several years, he told me a secret about where many of his rare coins had come from. I am from New Orleans. People are buried above ground there due to the very high water table. Well, it seems Mr Engler had heard about the practice of putting coins over a corpse's eyes to pay the boatman. He would break into tombs, crack open skulls and take the coins. After learning that, I didn't hang out around his house any more. I found out about his Nazi past from someone else that had tried to have him arrested, several years after he died.

i used to live in salem oregon a few blocks down the street from Jerry Brudos old property. i had no intention of hunting around his place and never did. but one night out drinking with my girlfriend she convinced me that we should go and stand in the burnt down murder shed for a few minutes. reluctantly i stood there with her in silence for what felt like 15 minutes..nothings happening I'm getting bored and hoping no cops drive by. not sure if its illegal to stand in a burnt down murder shack on an abandoned property in my at the time heavily intoxicated state, i was starting to get antsy. then my phone rang out that i had gotten a text. as i look at the number if you could call it that. it looked like Chinese letters and all pixelated... thinking that's a trip, coupled with i have never seen that before. i mindlessly flipped it open to see that is says "help..@%#*GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG"
i freaked out showed her my phone and said lets go. all the next day i kept getting gibberish texts and my phone would start typing all on its own and at times it would spell out some um.... disturbingly close things amidst the gibberish to what is said to have happened to some of the victims. i smashed the phone and used the square trade to get a new one. the messages stopped and my number never changed.
what happened that night and the fallowing day and what caused it is still a mystery to me. but its a fun late night story now, before i would not even talk about it.

here is a wiki page about Jerry Brudos if you are unsure of who he is. Jerry Brudos - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haven't had any encounters with entities (that I know of) but I have seen two fuzzy orbs of pale light in my back yard that I cannot explain.
My husband and I were sitting across from each other on the back patio one July evening, I was facing the side yard. Out of the corner of my eye I see two orbs of fuzzy pale light half way between me and the fence (10 feet) above the fence line. Moving left to right, they both did a dip one right after the other then continued on to the back yard where they disappeared! This took all of 2-3 seconds, very quick, no blurred light, no cars, planes passing by, no sounds of any kind.
Haven't seen them before or since! Have no explanation for it!

Good thread! It has inspired me to write about how I see things.....

My house is just packed full of old things and I can’t recall anything negative effecting my life here.
However, I am a firm believer of the spirit world but I also have a different understanding of life and the laws of the Universe.
Many will argue about the need for an expensive detector to find those missed treasures at that hammered site, but how many believe in the opposite where treasures REVEAL themselves to those who are in a certain state of mind?
I believe that all the treasures (even the “worthless” ones) WANT to be found by someone with a thirst for history. Someone with a passion to learn about the story behind those objects. Someone who brings the past back to life.
When I pick up that several thousand year-old arrow point, happiness overcomes me and I marvel at the workmanship.
I imagine the person who made it; their life, and wish that I too could be living that life..... away from all this madness.
I try to remember to pinch some tobacco out of a cigarette and leave it on the earth out of respect for what I will take home.
I could only be so lucky that the spirit of who made that point, could watch over me and impart their ancient wisdom!
No different than the time I was supposed to be dead from a major auto accident two months after my dear grandmother had passed away.
As I walked away with only a few stitches to my head, and those around me were pale as though they had seen a ghost, I confidently knew that the spirit of my grandmother was the angel on my shoulder that saved my life.
If anyone is concerned about “hauntings” then I would suggest you reflect on the intent you have behind what you do.
If your intent is to save history from the plow or development and bring it back to life by telling it’s story, then I think you’ll be alright.
You may even put a spirit to rest by revealing its story and honouring them. Who knows?
If you have a lust for money and extract objects in a disrespectful way, then there might be some problems!
Just like all those famous treasures that were known to be “cursed” and brought misery to whom ever possessed them.
Or those who died trying to uncover legendary riches that have never been found. Were they lustful like those who perished during the gold rush days?
Did “gold fever” drive them mad or did the spirits of the earth retaliate because of their greed?
Maybe it’s like searching for the Holy Grail and only those who are pure of heart will succeed.
But then if you can’t pay your bills one month and have no option left but to just trust that the Universe will take care of you;
having faith that everything will work out, then who could refuse a valuable gift that coincidently came out of the ground and is worth exactly the amount of money needed to pay off those bills? Yes, that does happen!
Good Karma is like winning the poker game at the casino and you’ve just cashed in some of your chips! Lol.
I am definitely not perfect but so far the spirits seem to be happy in my house if there’s any even living here.
I do know that some spirits get restless if my good finds stay hidden away in a box for too long.
So I pull them out and give them some loving, sometimes even taking a picture and posting them for all to see. Then things seem to be fine again.
I betcha museums are haunted. All those incredible things locked away boxes and sealed for almost an eternity down in the basement never seeing the light of day again. Scary stuff!
I’ve always carried the memories of those who were a part of my life that no longer live on this earth.
In some way, I know that their spirits have been watching over me and helping me along the way. Their physical shells are gone but their essence lives on.
Just thought I would share some of my “not so normal” thoughts. Ha ha.
Cheers,
Dave.

Good thoughts Dave, nothing has happened in my two return trips. I never try to take that which I am not welcomed to take, maybe they realize it now. I too hunt in an Indian heavy area and will think of the life they led as I walk the same creek beds where so many have before me. Just neat to think of how it must have been at the time.
