I took Cochetopa Pass from the Gunnison valley to the San Luis valley and the Saguache mountain range. Eary fur trappers reported that the Buffalo could only go over the continental divide in the winter over the Cochetopa pass. John C Fremont did a survey exploration of the east to west route over this pass as a possible way to go over the Rockys for the first trans continenal railroad.

Nice pictures.

Sure makes want to be there, but picture #2 (creek) sure makes me glad I’m not. :icon_scratch:

Nice photographs tamrock. Thanks for sharing...

Cool. I need to get down there and camp one last time before it snows me in.

Should have a few more nice days to get a camp trip in down that way RGINN, The first pic is close to a campsite I would go to along Tomichi creek. It's a nice place to relax and do a little fishing. Nice and quiet with no night time light pollution in that area.

Great pics.....many thanks, Tamrock. I always wondered what the Buffalo Gate Looked like. Some day I'll have to get down there.
Jim
