Went out with a buddy today to clear the outskirts of a Roman settlement. We did pretty well! We stumbled over some Roman change. These tiny ones are hard to get and very rarely come in ok condition. IDed as: "Tetricus I and Tetricus II barbs, with Reverses attempting to be Hilaritas, Laetitia and Salus'' Thanks to Cru and Crudad! A Roman spike coming from :dontknow: was in the pouch too.
Other finds were the usual trash, lead, some interesting musket balls coming from a "Dornbüchse" where the bullet was compressed over a mandrel by the ramrod to put it tight against the rifles, piece of scrap silver, parasol fitting....
I had a great day! Thanks for looking guys! :occasion14:

Wow definitely tiny coins I like that you showed it with the wheat penny to show it's true size.

Lu,

Great going on the Roman coins and you have to be on your game to find the small targets like those.

Some nice looking Romans there. Those small ones were probably easily lost.

Wow - that's definitely more than a couple! Didn't realize some were that small although they do retain very nice detail. Excellent hunt!

I had a lot of luck with these ones. In a more trashy area you wouldn't tell them apart of small iron. They are about 80% patina and 20% bronze left...

Good score Lu. Those coins look to be in good condition. No fertilizer? Thanks for the pics. I didn't know they made coins that small. Good luck.
