I looked for this cabin site on 1852 map in a big field and located it just at dark last night... pottery, fire brick and glass all over.
Got to my new site early this morning 5:Am before the turkey hunters got out (opening day of turkey in N.Y.).
I found a 1841 Temperance token..."Man at well"/Old Oaken Bucket

1841 TEMPERANCE TOKEN ~ MAN AT WELL / OLD OAKEN BUCKET ~ 1-inch / 25mm | eBay
Temperence & a Bar token from same site
Also found a big Crotal Bell and some buttons,a toasted Large cent,Oxen shoe ,not pictured.

I found one button that is an early Navy button one piece the has and Eagle and a Shield with a Cross at it`s side.
The Button has been repaired ...but they put the Shank on the Front of the button.

I can`t find the exact button in Tice`s book ...and can`t find my Albert`s book .
Running a Notka Relic and lovin it !

Very nice finds. Your button was actually made that way, not repaired. They used old stock and inverted the button then the shank was applied. I have dug several of them over the years just like yours. Your token is outstanding also.

Great finds! i always find any tokens pretty interesting...the Crotal bell is a nice one as well. Sucks that the button didn't have the shank on the right side but it almost makes it more interesting now. Congrats

Very nice token and the button is cool. Like Tennessee Digger said it was made that way. Apparently, only the front was stamped on these buttons and they were "repurposed" before the back mark was applied.

Thanks for posting the picture of the bottom of your bell Gary. I was curious to see if it was the same as mine, but it is not. See mine only has a "W" on it. The other side is missing unfortunately.
