Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
We started the morning on a new Roman Site, the Wheat Stubble was not good but after 1.5 hours we had 4 Roman Coins & a Fibula. 1 Album Coin.

Site Confirmed.

As Cru'dad finished his lunch, I popped over the road, down a deep ditch, up the other side to a nicely rolled field. I had never tried this one, but bee-lined straight to a Roman Pottery spread. I called Dad over & we gridded for 1 hour 15 minutes with only 2 Scrappies. This site has been done before, shame we were not the first because the amount of pottery we picked up out weighed some of our best sites.:treasurechest: (Unknown Site Confirmed)

For the last 2 hours of the day we tried a site we haven't done for 2 years, but once again the stubble beat us back & we finished with only 2 scrappies & 1 Fibula.

At this rate we are unsure if we will get the break we need.:tongue3:

Thats a bunch of shards! Many terra sigillata pieces. Most have sharp edges like fresh plowed. :icon_scratch: Too bad it is plundered.... The flint in the first pic, speartip or knive?

Your seemingly endless supply of incredible sites and your considerable knowledge of the history of them amazes me. You are certainly not bad with a detector either-LOL. If i found something there, i would have no idea what it wass unless you were there to tell me. I would like hunt my family's area of Rogeley someday. HH, Quindy.

Pity it has been hunted before, but like my last roman silver, it was hunted out, and I got the Claudius!!
Good luck

Great Finds yet again Cru! What date would the Album coin be? A fibula?

In some ways the pottery is the best find because it was truly hand made. Nice finds!

Just the tip of a scraper.

Licinius Augustus AD 263 – 325

A Fibula is a Roman Brooch (or Pin as you say)

Nice ancient finds there:occasion14:

Love the pottery.
