MIKE..... I like that name, Youtube is 24 hours behind, as of 2-3-08 I've got over 120 silvers from this one site, 16 silvers from 2008 alone. More youtube to follow.... Stew got 2 Barbers today a dime and a Quarter, he deserves them. Sorry if my grammar is off as I can only blame the pre super bowl Heineken....... Go Giants......where's my Heineken?

Kirk,

The philosophy you indicated is really true. I'll take it any day, but I like it old.

What happened to Fedor?
I think he was afraid of pulling a Crocop and his aurora of invincibility would have been ruined

If it is new wilver, I don't want it. :) My brother, zoy, almost threw a Barber quarter he found. "Too new." :)

P.S. Keep striking it, if you want it!
Hello All,

Vp here, the Bone Dry Crew got out today to a 1890's park/picnic area - which is kinda out of character for us, we had a nice colonial location setup for today but the ground in the farm fields is still frozen solid, so we went back in the woods and hunted this park. It has produced some nice coins in the past I've been told, so we all figured what the heck let's give it a try.

Now after about 3 hours of hunting, I was off by myself when I got an iffy signal deep. I dug and dug and came up with the Barber Quarter first and then the pocket knife.

I finally found the guys about a half mile away in the farm fields bordering the old park. I walked up to them cursing and saying "d&mn, i can't believe there's no silver in this place !!! did you guys find anything???" "no they replied" - "you find anything" they asked, "nah, not really" i said - "well i did find this old pocket knife" handing it to them, they examined it and said "yeah that's cool"... in the same low tone of voice i pulled out the barber quarter and said "oh yeah ... i found this Barber Quarter in the same hole ..." Their eyes lit up and said what the %%%@@@@???!!!!!! we all did the bone dry dance yelling and high fiving !it was too funny !

The quarter/knife combination was found almost 10 inches deep in some very muddy soil with my SE and the stock 10" coil.

I'll post additional pictures after I clean it with some water/soap.

Take care,

vp

Did that Barber almost get thrown away too??? ::)

That's my Brooklyn accent...LOL

Great way to start the year off Crocop! And don't even bother wasting your time and effort in replying to Doyboy (KirkPA's name here on TNet before he was banned for a brief time) or his twin brother Zoyboy(Kyle).
Each and every time I think there may be some redeemable trait to the twins it gets dashed by their ignorance and arrogance.
Then I go back and think long and hard about why I thought there were good things to believe about them in the first place and I realize that my tilt towards a positive was swayed by their results as detectorists. NOT by their abilities as people.
Big difference there. Do we praise people based solely on their finds...or on the quality of their actions as decent, honerable folk?
I used to get worked up about Kirk all the time. Now it doesn't phase me in the least.
I've dug a LOT of silver in the short time I have been in this hobby as well as a sprinkling of old copper coins as well and I have yet to find a Barber quarter or half.
And to those of you on TNet who have both the talent to do the research required to be on good locations with permission and are blessed to live in areas rich with possible old coin and relics you need to also think about how you might make others feel when you sound dissatisfied with "common" silver or even clad coinage finds. Instead you need to be thankful for what you have and encourage others into remaining positive about the hobby. Far too many give it up because of unrealistic goals that never seem to be reached.

Hey Danimal,
I agree with you, when it comes to Kirk (AKA Jirk) he's as bothersome to me as something stuck to the bottom of my shoe, I used to laugh at his type and offer them a shot at the title any time anywhere and i have indirectly offered him the same. Now I just laugh and kick back, I know what the truth is and it comes down to mind over matter.......
I don't mind because Jirk doesn't matter.
I really feel sorry for him, It's obvious that he's crying out for attention, it seems as though there's no authority figure in his life or he would have more respect for others. I will say my prayers for him and everyone else on the planet and hope that god opens his ears and eyes.

Hi CC, I think Ricardo means the quotes being boxed in blue. I apologize if I started something here, but I had to call him on it. If you're almost throwing Barber quarters away one day why would you be high fiving and doing some bone dance when the next one is found? Nuff said. Now I'm done.....I think.

Yeah, I keep my sites secret from my buddies because I am afraid they are going to find all the coins (Joe G). Yeah, I'm the one who needs help. ::) :)

I was refering to the back and forth quotes that appear to have already been removed. This section of the forum is supposed to showcase people's finds, instead you have a post taking the direction of a debate for no good reason. That crap pollutes the air man.
