Howdy, I moved to NC about three months ago and haven't posted anything since as I've been on one of my longest dry spells ever. Haven't been able to find a thing over a hundred years old till yesterday. Been doing lots of reasearch and looking for a small skirmish site on stonemans route among other things. Got permission to hunt forty acres in the vicinity of where the skirmish should have ben and found a few keepers. First off this whatsit thing. Its got a smashed copper cone with a tube coming out the top and an iron handle on it. Any ideas?

Then I pulled what I think is an old brass door bell

The this neat roosevelt fairbanks 1904 campaign watch fob

And finally when I got around to the other side of the hill (which is where I had intended to go the whole time but ended up dilly dabbying around till almost dark) I found this fired two ringer that had smashed up against a rock. Had to go right after that but can't wait to get back as I'm hoping now I'm close to my lost skirmish site. Thanks.

Thanks, and I agree an old light sounds right. Also bell could def be off an old crank phone.
