I wanted to return to the spot where I scouted out 2 hammered in less than 1 hour & Cru'dad wanted to do the bird cover on the edge of the Roman Site. So in the morning we split forces & did both.
The sewn grass is now 12" in places & it was the last opportunity to try a big grid. It took me just under 2 hours to get the 1853 Sixpence, & I began to think I had a very lucky strike with the hammereds on the first try.
As Cru'dad only got 1 recordable in 2.5 hrs he joined me after Lunch for 3 hours to see if we could get at least 1 hammered. After nearly 4.5hrs I was running out of hope, when finally the hammered showed up.
5.5 hrs total;
Cauldron Foot
Crotal Bell
Buckles
50 cal bullets
17th C Token
Tudor Sword Pommel (only our 2nd of this type)
Bent Tudor Book Clasp
Medieval Leather Mount
1853 Sixpence (way better than my purchased one in my collection)
