came across an old wooden box from my wifes dad during his travels as photo recon in the army air corps. all foreign coins from denmark, italy, africa, india, australia, phillipines, china, before ending up in okinawa. 11 silvers out of the 24 coins. hh all.

Nice! Did either the Australian or Philippines coins have an S mint-mark? The US, San Diego mint, minted coins for several countries during WWII era. I don't remember which all, but I know both those 2 countries were among them. I have a 1948 Australian 3-pence which has an S mint mark.

delta 4000 / ace 250 - used BH and many others too
the s mint mark for the phillipine coins in WW2 was "S" for San Francisco * not san diego ::) ;D
