15” lower jaw bone(updated)

Eastern Kansas creek find. I know it’s either from a cow or bison, after researching it’s very hard to determine which one as they share very similar jaw and teeth structure. I just like how it looks old…haha. I tried the so-called “flame test” with a Bic lighter, I didn’t smell anything but butane.

UPDATE: After sending pictures and measurements off to the local university and natural history museum. A researcher with a PhD notified me that this is a jaw bone from a young adult cow, probably 3-4 years of age. The bone itself is pretty old, but not hundreds or thousands of years old. At least I know now!
