Found this the other day on the beach. The ruler is in centimeters... The metal is falling apart, too. I have NO idea what it might be. Do YOU ?

Have you tried a magnet to see if it is magnetic ? It looks to be the shape of a bottle.
Is it round or flat on one side/
Does it feel by weight like it is a solid mass of metal, or does it feel by weight
like it may be hollow? Or does it feel by weight, and appear like rock?
It appears to be heavily encrusted in coral or rust ?
More info might help to identify.

Good question about the magnet and no, it is NOT magnetic. It is rather light (alu ?) and it is almost falling apart. I'll post you another picture of it. Could it have been a battery ? Just thinking, lol !

I don't think it is a grenade. It looks too small + it is light. A spark ?

It kind of resembles the hand spoke of a ship's wheel,
or hatch cover wheel lock, tough call ?

Could it be a Buddha statue? I wouldn't know what it is made out f could be a carving or in maybe pot metal? But it just looked to me like it had details that would work for that.

in the secound picture, there is a circle on the bottle, maybe it is a primer to a bullet. Just an idea

Hi Bob,
For me looks like the top part of a religious statue destoyed by weather or water,
you see that had something in hands and the head is to one side.
Saint Marie with Jesus babe in hands probably.

I'll venture to say it's a spark plug.Though I don't know why the porcelain would be corroded like that unless it has been broken off. Good luck and H.H.-diggummup

Bomb Fuse

To me it looks like a bomb fuse. We've got loads of them here in Germany. They are made of a sort of magnesium alloy, that starts corroding llike yours. The pic is of an American WW2 fuse and it looks very similar, to say the least.
