I had the opportunity to hit a spot that has been giving up relics for almost 3 years now with the new 15x12 SEF Coil from Kellyco. Also got some great video for the testing I was doing with the coil, so stay tuned for the video!

WHAT A BEAST!!! I hit a horseshoe at close to 2 feet. 20 inches to be approximate. I did score a few keepers and a GREAT Confederate Button!!!

Looks like that coils doing a job on those deep targets. How's the balance feel with that big coil?

Great button but I don't see deep iron as doing a test for a larger coil. I would hope any high end detector would see a large chuck at that depth, or close to it. I'd love to play with one of those coils but none of the large coils so far have convinced me they're much better. The SEFs are pricey too.

I agree, IP!

Ian, how deep was the button? By the way, that is a GREAT find!

I totally agree about the large iron not being a good test for a coil/detector. But, when paired with the other tests that I did this weekend, I feel that this coil has many advantages over all the other coils that White's has manufactured. And, to answer your statement about a high end detector seeing a iron target at that depth--- It would not with the stock 950 coil or a Super 12. Not even a bump in the threshold. With this 15x12 SEF Coil, it was not only able to give more than a whisper audibly, it also ID'd it visually.

Another thing this coil has going for it is Target Separation. One would think with the sheer size that this coil would be a nightmare to sort out close-by targets. Not the case at all. This coil does a better job of sorting out targets than any White's DD Coil. This type of advantage is key when going and hunting 'hunted out places' as modern trash and old iron will sometimes mask a nice target. This coil will get you past the junk and get you to the good stuff--- and let you know.

The button was approximately 6-8 inches down. I couldn't get an accurate measurement as the button was under a massive root.

The video will be out later tonight or tomorrow of all the testing and hunting I did with it.

Hey Guys,

It occurred to me tonight while editing video that some of you may have more questions and ideas for a test on this coil. Let me know if you would like to see a test done on the 15x12 coil and I'll work my magic!
