Relic Hunting
3 sites not a ton of targets.but the few keepers were good ones.all 1700's relics.a lock plate from a black powder pistol or rifle,a couple ox knobs,a broken shoe buckle frame,a cool patterned button, a tiny broken pocket knife and a unbroken pewter spoon.If anyone can tell me what gun this may have come from I would appreciate it.No markings at all on the brass plate

Awesome find and great conservation work! Smart choice in going with electrolysis. It's the only conservation method I know for long-term preservation.
 
A brass lock plate is fairly unusual, and it’s early too. Nice find!
 
Nice finds , keep an eye out for flints when our digging too probably some close by
 
That's an exceptional day hunting. Nice work on the lock plate.

Real question is how many beans have been on that spoon?
 
That lock plate is just cool, and looks awesome after electrolysis.
