1723 Wood's Hibernia recovered....

I was wasting some time and decided to swing the coil for a bit, I got a quarter signal about four inches deep, I hesitated on digging it but I am sure glad I did now! When the coin surfaced, it kinda looked like a quarter but backwards looking the wrong direction on the front and dirty. When I got home I put it in virgin olive oil for a few hours and used a soft brush to clean away the soil. Then I seen the date! A 1723 Wood's Hibernia! I couldn't believe I found a coin that's older than our country!
Here are some pictures I took of the coin.

very nice, I have one similar but cant make out the date. Great Find

Sweet! Amazing to think of where that's been and who's pocket it's been in.

Awesome Recovery !! W Woods has an interesting history of minting tokens, his Rosas and Hibernias are prized finds !!

Isn't it great, to find something that old?!

It definately shocked me when the coin was ID'd... I want to go back and cover that area really slow soon.
