Hmmmm, there was a Moravian mission here in my town. There is a historical marker.
May just have to run the detector where I think it was down by the river.
 
I Almost forgot this. The Owner of the Field where the Union-Bethel Church Stood Walked across to us While searching the Moravian Church Stockade Site and asked us if we were there looking for the Payroll.
After Asking "What Payroll" He told us of a Local 'Tradition' ?
a Company of Soldiers passing through Camped in the Moravian church Field ( 1850's or 1870's. I Don't remember if he said French & Indian war or Revolution) & Because of Fear of Indian Attack buried the Payroll. He Did Not State if they were Attacked that I remember . so Odds are good, Unless All were Killed Or Maimed & unable to Retrieve it.
