Wasn't in the mood for a super hike today. 8 miles in 2 days is a killer. I decided to go back to a place I found in the spring. It's only about a half mile from the road. Spent a couple of hours ,got a few things. 3 buttons,a broken tombac, plain dandy and one that's got a cool design on it. Also got another first. 1769 hibernia halfpenny. It was a squeaker, about 10 inches down. Not in the greatest shape but I'm hoping a mineral oil soak will get rid of a little more of the crap. Peroxide was starting to make it look pitted so I stopped real quick. The pottery is that thick glazed stuff that they made back in the 1800s. The dandy was real deep too,at least a foot.
