🥇 BANNER 1770 8 Reale found today!!!!!!

[matt092079]

God was on my side for this one guys. HOLY CRAP!!!!! A solid 97-99 on the vdi. Was expecting a hot rock, they give off those funky signals. But to my surprise, at this pounded out spot, with only 2 buttons found last time out here, and 4 today, I dig a 1770 silver 8 REALES. And it's completely intact with amazing detail!!!

I've been hunting this place since February and it's dried up a bit, but this find was just what I needed to NOT give up on it just yet! Thanks for looking!

Great find! You've had a great year. Amazing that someone could lose that coin.

[Loco-Digger]

What the heck is an 8 Real doing in West By God? No matter the answer, kudos to you for pulling that beauty. Is that your 1st coin from the 1700s? It looks like you burned one in celebration prior to the photo-op. You could pass as my younger brother, I had to take a double look at your pics.

[Westfront]

Congrats! What a chunk of silver these are!

[Darby]

[ironhorse]

Wow another big 8!
I've been detecting over twenty years and I've yet to kick one out of the ground, I'm just a little jealous if that one
Awesome find!

[RobRieman]

Killer giant 8 Matt! What's the deal with people pulling these out of the ground lately like I dig zincs?

[Bill D. (VA)]

Man, I think I've seen one of those somewhere . Great find Matt!! Yours is an older version than mine and has a corded edge instead of the alternating squares and rectangles. Congrats on your mega-silver, and keep hitting that spot as there could be more hiding.

[Gridwalker306]

Holy crap, that's astounding!

[against the wind]

Matt, that is an incredible find. I would take it to a Coin Dealer to have it verified as Genuine.
Then I would gladly pay the expense of having it Graded and encapsulated by PCGS.
Don't tell anyone that it is a dug coin. Let them grade it without that information.

[PA Sleuth]

That is an unbelievable coin and a definite bucket list for me
