We went back to the family owned land where we found the Spanish silvers and Copperhead political pin. This time we went to the sons land about a half mile up the hill. This spot we did is the original permission mission landowner. We did his Alfalfa field in early June and I found a 1848 Braided Hair LC and Kyle found a worn Colonial copper. The Alfalfa field is next to the Bean field that we did today. When we talked to the landowner in June he said we could do all their land after the harvest. During Saturday's driveby with Kyle we were happy to see he was taking down the soybean at the time. We knew a Colonial bonanza was going to take place today. We arrived this morning and began swinging. Within 10 minutes Kirk and Kyle at the exact same time found KILLER targets that they will post later. Kirks specifically was the shocker find of the day(once we confirm it is what we think it is). 5 minutes later, after threatening to punch Kyle in the mouth, which he will relate in his post later, I got a perfect 82 VDI and dug a nice first year, 1796 Draped Bust LC. My first confirmed 1700's variety DB LC. 7 minutes later , out popped a nice 1826 Coronet. The highlight of my day was the premiered Ultimate find of the week for me. A beautiful 1773 Virginia Halfpenny. Once again my first one of these and also first for my group. It was 5 and a half inches deep and a perfect signal. My best relics of the day are 1. A flintlock pistol buttcap.2. A brass 18th century Bugle/Trumpet Mouthpiece. Can you imagine the Yankee Doodle Dandy blowing this Trumpet? Some buttons, pewter spoon stem, and shot musket ball finishes the list for the day. This is the best fall season that i've had so far. :icon_thumleft:

Looks like a great day and nothing wrong with a good punch in the mouth when the situation requires it. And considering you hunt with Kirk the fist must be ready at all times! ;D

Thanks everyone. I am getting more excited about the Trumpet mouthpiece than anything else. It's a nice relic that to me opens up this site to possible Military history. Especially if it was from a Militia Muster Bugle.
