1780's Grist Mill Yields More Lost Coins for 2010

Hi TNet , This is it for 2010 . A great year for digging in the swamps of Jersey . The old mill site continues to give up good stuff . 40 degrees , and unfrozen woods and waterfront . 6 hours out in the swamp . Thought I hit the holy grail of half cents ...1796 Liberty cap without pole.... :o :o :o :o :o it turned out to be a 1794 liberty with pole :'( but I am still happy about finding this one !!!! 1806 draped bust , ssweet little half sister , 1739 KG II , all beat up but still can see date , and a counterstamped classic LC in scruffy shape . A end of the year highlite and last dig for 2010, was a small silver cross with a rose on the front , beautiful old silversmith creation from long ago . . May you all have a safe , HAPPY , HEALTHY , Prosperous New Year 2011 :occasion14: :occasion18: :occasion16: That's All Folks !!! Dawg

That was a high-quality hunt if I've ever seen one! Congrats on all of the early coppers, and I, too, love all of the dandy buttons.

Can we see a better picture of the Liberty Cap half cent?

Good hunting there.

Hey, any chance you can get a close up of the 1739 KG copper. I would like to see a closer view of it.

Thanks

That was an awesome way to end the year, but you should have saved those relics and coins for the 1st hunt in 2011. :laughing7: You would have then started the year in Colonial fashion. :headbang: :laughing7: :laughing9: Best of luck in 2011, Dawg! :headbang: :hello2:

Nice hunt Dawg. That's a great last hunt for 2010.

One item caught my eye. I think I found one similar today. I have circled it below. Any idea what it is?
:icon_scratch: I would guess a pin back for hat or sash . Cool design , when it first was dug it looked like a coin :laughing7: Glad you found one as well and my Best to You for 2011 , dawg

It's a saucer from a childs tea set. I posted the one I found on What is it and it was Ided in no time. Hope you can find the rest of the set.

Happy New Year.

Re: 1780's Grist Mill Yields More Lost Coins for 2010

Great finds. I have a little info on your bowl. It's from the Glasgow Pottery (John Moses & Co.) Trenton NJ. ca. 1895-1904. The company started up in 1859 but used a different mark on the earlier pieces.

Wolverine.
