Hello all....I have had a great time reading about all of your great finds over the last month or so and decided to post a pic of a 1787 Connecticut Colonial that I got this morning at an old farmhouse (circa 1796). It is soaking and this is what I have so far.

I hunt exclusively for old coins (usually with my brother) and we use White's DFX's.

This is my 3rd colonial in 3 weeks (2 Conn, 1 NJ) :)

My brother also found a beautiful 1838 Seated Dime this morning as well.

Happy hunting to all and I will post more pics of recent finds later this evening.

Greg

GREAT COIN 1235ce. Can I ask how deep she was?
I have 4 Rev. forts or stockades within 25 miles of me. One I know you can't detect at but I am not sure of the other 3.
Oldest coin I ever found was a 1916 dime. But if you count my grandma's coing collection I inherited. The oldest coin I own is a 1812 large cent.

Congrats on a beautiful coin

Thanks B1, this coin was 4 inches near the old well in the back yard. Honestly, I have never dug a coin deeper than 6 inches (1778 8 Reales).....deep does not always mean old.....I have found Memorials @ 5 inches and one time picked up an 1892 Barber quarter right in the middle of a dirt road, no shovel needed (much to my brother's disgust ;D)

but I still say....beep, beep and be deep.

Nice!!! It's interesting how the depth isn't always what one would expect. Yesterday I found a 1985 quarter at 6 inches in hardpack, yet a few days before that I dug a very early copper at only 3 inches in soft soil.

Belated welcome to the forum, 1235. It sounds like you're going to show us lots of great coins. I'm looking forward to more posts! :)
